Roman Fosti and Soukaina Atanane were awarded as the winner of the 21,1 km race of the Tallinn Marathon
The Tallinn Marathon 2022 program started with a half-marathon, the winner of which was awarded Roman Fosti from the Estonian marathon team. Soukaina Atanane from Morocco was the fastest women.
Estonia's biggest national sports event started this morning at 9 o'clock, when more than two thousand half-marathon participants started on the 21.1-kilometer course from the foot of Pika Hermann on Falgi road.
The half-marathon was won by the runner of the Estonian marathon team, Roman Fosti from Sparta Sports Club, with a time of 1:06.39. Kenyan representative Ibrahim Mukunga (1:07.13), who led the race with Fosti for almost the entire distance, was second, and Norwegian Magnus Sirnes Hjellum (1:08.07) was third.
Moroccan Soukaina Atanane finished as the winner of the women's half marathon with a time of 1:14.55. Adela Paulina Baltoi from Romania came in second place (1:16.40) and Pille Hinn (1:18.10), representative of Sparta Sports Cuub, won the third place.
The program of Estonia's largest national sports event continues today at 2 p.m. with the Nike Youth Run and at 5 p.m. with the RIMI 10K and culminates with the marathon distance starting at 9 a.m. on Sunday morning. Limpa Kids’ Race will also take place at Snell Stadium today from noon.
