Tallinn Marathon EXPO on Tallinn Song Festival Grounds.

Health, leisure and sports fair where everyone can browse the partners’ offers, buy sports and leisure equipment at affordable prices and register for future events.



Tallinn Marathon’s competition center and start area are located on Tallinn Song Festival Grounds (Narva street 95, 10127 Tallinn).

Entrance to the competition center is from Mere and Oru gate.




For entrance to Tallinn Song Festival Grounds you must submit:

  • a certificate that proves you have been vaccinated (the vaccination has to be completed and the maximum protection is achieved);
  • a certificate that proves you have been recovered from COVID-19 (last six months);
  • a certificate of a negative COVID-19 test (PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test - valid for 72 h or a RAT (rapid antigen test) - valid 48 h) that must remain valid until the end of the race day.


Young people under the age of 18 do not have to prove their infection safety.


All participants who have been vaccinated, have been recovered from COVID-19 or whose negative test is valid until 16.00 on Sunday, September 12, will receive a wristband from the Race Office, on the basis of which they can enter Tallinn Song Festival Grounds on the day of the competition without additional control of COVID certificate.
NB! The negative test must be valid until the end of the competition day (Saturday at 20.00, Sunday at 16.00).

The rest will be asked for a valid negative test on the morning of the competition day.




The organizer offers the possibility to make rapid antigen test in front of entrance of Tallinn Song Festival Grounds. The price of a rapid antigen test is 8 €. Read more here.

On Friday, September 10th, it is possible to park on the territory of Lauluväljak in the parking lot of Oru.

On Saturday and Sunday, you can park free of charge in the parking lot of Eesti Näitused here. It is not allowed to park in the territory of the Song Festival Grounds on competition days.


The organizers recommend using public transport to come to the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds. Tallinn's public transport is in the period from 10 to 12 September 2021 free of charge for the participants of Tallinn Marathon. You need to have your race number with you!

Tallinn Marathon's Race Office is located on Tallinn Song Festival Grounds (Narva street 95, 10127 Tallinn).

Race office opening times:

  • Friday, 10th of September 10:00-20:00
  • Saturday,11th of September 7:00-20:00
  • Sunday, 12th of September 7:00-16:00


The competitor will recieve his/her start materials from the race office. The hand out of start materials ends 15 minutes before the start.

NB! To receive the start materials, the competitor must know their start number. The start number can be found in the start list or in the information letter sent to the participant before the competition. You can check your start number here. Starting materials will be issued only to the participant personally and on the basis of an identity document.


Because of the verification of COVID certificate, the organizers recommend to collect the start materials as early as possible.



Start for the distances will be given on Song Festival Grounds.

Starting corridors will open 30 minutes before the start. Your starting group is marked on your BIB. Please enter the starting corridor according to your start number. Starting from the wrong start group leads to disqualification.

Start number - timekeeping

Only entrants with the official start numbers (BIB) for Tallinn Marathon 2021 will be permitted to compete in the race. BIB must be pinned in front of the T-shrit so that the number is clearly visible. Start numbers are personal and non-transferable. Participants can keep their numbers after the race.


Timekeeping in Tallinn Marathon is electronic. The timing device is attached on the back of your BIB. BIB must be worn on the chest. Do not cover the start number with a jacket; start number must be visible from start to finish. Do not fold or bend the start number in any way! In case of a damaged timing device your results may not be recorded! Do not cover the number with your hand while finishing, otherwise the result may not be recorded.



There are changing facilities and gear check in the competition center on the Song Festival Grounds. All runners can use their own bag if it is properly closed.


Gear check to competitors is free of charge and will be open:
Saturday, 11th of September 08:00-13:00 and 15:30-20:00
Sunday, 12th of September 7:30-16:00


Do not leave your gear bag unattended at any time in any other place!




42,195 km

  • Tallinn Marathon 42,2 km course runs on the streets and light traffic roads in the area of Pirita tee, Merivälja tee and Reidi tee.
  • Marathon consists of 3 laps of 14 km. On the course please follow the signals of referees.
  • Marathon course is open 7 hours.
  • Timekeeping control points are placed in every 5 kilometers and on the 21,1 km mark.
  • The time limits on the marathon course are: 21,1 km 3:15, 30 km 5:15.
  • Finish is located near to Russalka monument.
  • IcePower refreshment station is located on the 22th and 36,5th km of the marathon course.


21, km

  • Tallinn Marathon 21,1 km course runs on the streets and light traffic roads in the area of Pirita tee, Merivälja tee and Reidi tee.
  • Half marathon consists of 7 km lap + 14 km lap. On the course please follow the signals of referees.
  • Half marathon course is open 3 hours.
  • Timekeeping control points are placed in every 5 kilometers.
  • Finish is located near to Russalka monument.


RIMI 10 km

  • The RIMI 10 km track takes the participants to the roads around Tallinn Song Festival Ground, Maarjamäe and Lillepi Park.
  • Start and finish are located on Tallinn Song Festival Ground.
  • 10 km course consists 3 km lap + 7 km lap.
  • 10 km course is open 2,5 h.



On the marathon and half-marathon course the kilometer marks are placed after every kilometer.

Only participants with official Tallinn Marathon BIB are allowed to be on the course track. Spectators are not allowed on the course. Pets and baby strollers are not allowed.

For safety, the participants are obligated to follow the orders of the course adjudicators.



  • There are 11 refreshment stations on the marathon course, 5 in half marathon and 2 in 10 km course.
  • Marathon and half marathon refreshment stations are after every 3-5 km. 10 km refreshment stations are placed on the 4th and 7th kilometer.
  • Water (grey cups) and sport drinks (yellow cups) are provided at the refreshment stations.
  • Following the recommendations of the Healt Board, the oranizers will not be able to offer food on the track this year.
  • Throw the used drinking cup in the trash bin located on the course.
  • There is a toilet in each refreshment station and medical assistance is available if needed.


In order to prevent people from gathering on the track in large groups, there are no pacemakers this year on the recommendation of the Health Board.


It is possible to contact medical services along the course and at each refreshment station. Medical service is also available at the start/finish area. In case of an emergency please inform the medical personnel and the organizers. Medical personnel and organizers have the right to remove any participants with signs of injury or excessive strain from the race. In case of emergency call 112.


All participants have to respect clean and fair sport. The doping rules by International Association of Athletics IAAF are in effect and Estonian Anti-Doping Agency has the right to take samples. Additional information


Finish of marathon and half marathon is located near to Russalka monument 500 m from Tallinn Song Festival Ground.

Finish of 10 km is located on Tallinn Song Festival Grounds.


  • Marathon finish will be closed 16.00
  • Half marathon finish will be closed 12.00
  • RIMI 10 km finish will be closed 19.30


After finishing, do not stpo, but continue along the finish corridor.

All participants will receive a medal. The medal must be taken by the participant from the medal table.


After finish all participants will be offered a drink.


After finishing the race all marathon runners are welcome to visit marathon area for relaxation on Tallinn Song Festival Grounds. Massage is not offered this year on the recommendations of the Health Board. Entrance requires your start number. 


The organizer does not offer washing facilities this year due to health safety.


The awards ceremony will be held according to the schedule on the Song Festival Grounds.

  • On marathon race 6 best men and 6 best women will be awarded.
  • On half marathon 5 best men and 5 best women will be awarded.
  • On the 10 km race 3 best men and 3 best women will be awarded.


The winners of the different age classes will also be rewarded (only 1st places in marathon and half marathon). The winners of age classes are able to pick up the awards from the Race office until on Sunday at 16:00.


Organizers have the right to remove a participant from the course if he/she does not arrive to the timekeeping point within time limit or does not finish before the finish area is closed. In case of obvious health problems, medical staff and judges have the right to remove a participant from the track.


The organisers have the right to disqualify a competitor if the competitor does not follow the competition’s rules, hinders other competitors or hampers the organisation of the competition in some other way. In case of cancellation, if you need transport to the competition center, go to the nearest drinking point and inform the organizers that you have canceled. In other cases, it is not necessary to notify the organizer.
