Rules

1. Organization

Tallink Maijooks takes place on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Tallinn Song Festival Grounds.
Tallink Maijooks is organized by MTÜ Spordiürituste Korraldamise Klubi (Sport Event Team).

2. Start and finish arrangement

The competition center is situated at Tallinn Song Festival Grounds. The track runs runs along asphalted roads and is marked. For safety reasons, participants are to follow instructions by traffic controllers. The start and finish are located at Tallinn Song Festival Grounds. The track’s third kilometer features a water stop.

Pursuit starts at Tallink Maijooks commence as from 1 p.m.

Start groups of 1,500-2,000 individual participants start at approximately every 5 minutes.

Start order:

·         timed runners

·         untimed runners

·         timed and untimed Nordic walkers

·         timed and untimed walkers

The official competition time for participants that complete a timed distance is their net time (the time from crossing the start line to crossing the finish line). All timed runners, walkers, and Nordic walkers will have a timekeeping chip attached to the flip side of their race bib (see timing information in Competition Guidelines, Chapter 8).

The start line is located at Tallinn Sound Festival Grounds between the Sea Gates (Mereväravad; see competition center map).

The start area will be open for competitors 10 min. (20 min. for timed runners) before the expected start time.

Depending on the number of participants, start times are planned as follows:

1:00 p.m. 7 km timed runners, group I
1:05 p.m. 7 km timed runners, group II
1:10 p.m. 7 km untimed runners
1:15 p.m. 7 km timed and untimed Nordic walkers
1:20 p.m. 7 km timed and untimed walkers, group I
1:25 p.m. 7 km timed and untimed walkers, group II
1:30 p.m. 7 km timed and untimed walkers, group III

Participants may choose their start group based on their selected distance. For example, walkers may choose between three start groups. The starting area is closed when the relevant start group is full. Next participants start in the subsequent group.

Start groups are formed to ensure safety and provide participants with more space to move on the track.

50 first participants in the timed run receive their race number individually, and they will be allowed to enter the start area from the front of the start line.

Kids Races are held at Tallinn Song Festival Grounds starting from 11:30 a.m.
The finish line of Maijooks closes at 4:00 p.m.

3. Participants

Tallink Maijooks is a running event for women only. Girls and women who have trained enough for the distance may participate in the 7 km race. Competitors participate at their own risk (in the case of minors, at the risk of a parent or guardian). Potential participants are recommended to undergo a pre-registration health check to have a doctor confirm their capacity to cover the relevant distance.

4. Registration

To register participant should fullfill the registration form and pay the entry fee.

The participant’s name is displayed in the start list after the entry fee has been paid. Pay your entry fee via online banking after completing the registration form.

A participant’s successful registration is confirmed by their name appearing in the start list. The start list is displayed on the competition’s home page.

A competitor’s race number is added to the start list within five hours after payment of the entry fee (if a bank link is used). Paying by separate bank transfer, the competitor receives their race number within five days after payment.

Online registration closes at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 17.

Participants may also register at the competition center at Tallinn Song Festival Grounds during May 16 – 18 and on-site on competition day starting from 10 a.m. Registration closes 15 minutes before the start.

Participants that registered and paid the entry fee agree to receive e-mails containing important information for competitors.

5. Re-registration

Re-registration is open until 5 p.m. on May 13, 2018. It is not possible to re-register starting from May 14 or on competition day. The applicable fee is EUR 10 for changing a name, and EUR 10 plus the difference in participation fees for changing the race preference.

To re-register, a new participant must complete the registration form (up until the payment section). A bank link cannot be used as the program would then calculate a relevant normal price. Payment must be transferred to the bank account of MTÜ Spordiürituste Korraldamise Klubi. In the “reason for payment” field note the following: “previous participant’s name” is replaced by “new participant’s name”, new participant’s ID code/date of birth, new participant’s distance. Timed races are subject to electronic timekeeping – time is kept with a chip attached to the flip side of the race bib. The chip must not be removed from the flip side of the bib and the bib should not be folded under any circumstances. The race number must be attached to the chest and must remain visible throughout the competition from the start until crossing the finish line. Do not cover the number with your hand while finishing (e.g. to stop a sports watch); otherwise your result may not be recorded.

Competitors may keep their race bibs with the chip; it is not necessary to return them after the race.

The ranking of competitors finishing the 7 km timed race is based on the relevant finish list.
