LHV Women's Run sets participation record
LHV Women's Run set a remarkable participation record, with the number of registrants exceeding 20,000 for the first time. Liis-Grete Arro won the main 7-kilometer race.
The 37th edition of the LHV Women's Run, held today in beautiful spring weather at Tallinn’s Song Festival Grounds, saw a powerful participation record. A total of 20,370 fitness enthusiasts registered for the largest spring movement event in history, including those participating in the virtual run and children's races.
The main race of the LHV Women's Run, with more than 10,000 women participating, was won by Liis-Grete Arro, who completed the 7-kilometer course in 23 minutes and 35 seconds. Helen Bell came in second with a time of 23:55, and Pille Hinn finished third with a time of 24:24.
At the LHV Women's Run event, attendees could enjoy a large health fair and a fun program at the men's area. The Limpa children's races were also held in front of the Song Arch for kids of different ages. The day of movement and joy concluded with a grand spring concert featuring the band Smilers.
More than 200 companies and teams were represented at the event. The award for the company with the most participants went to the North Estonia Medical Center, which had 297 employees taking part.
There were nine participants named Mai at the starting line, 36 people celebrated their birthdays at the event, the oldest participants were Nonna and Liudmila, both born in 1940, and the most common name among participants was Katrin, with 141 people sharing the name.
Participants came from all of Estonia’s counties, as well as from 22 foreign countries, including Afghanistan, the United States, Brazil, Costa Rica, Egypt, the Philippines, Spain, Croatia, Ireland, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Colombia, Cuba, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, South Korea, Latvia, Mexico, Norway, France, North Macedonia, Sweden, Germany, Finland, Suriname, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Hungary, and the United Kingdom.
Over 300,000 fitness enthusiasts have enjoyed the country’s largest health and movement event for women over its 37-year history.
The next, 38th edition of LHV Maijooks will take place on May 17, 2025.
