Narva City Run brings together people from all over Estonia
Narva City Run attracts a large number of people from all over Estonia to the border city, offering the joy of movement alongside the rich cultural program of Narva Days.
Taking place on May 31 and June 1, the most popular public sporting event in Ida-Virumaa draws participants from Narva, other parts of Virumaa, all across Estonia, and even from abroad. Organizers predict that, with good weather, more than five thousand people could participate in this year's diverse program.
The festive opening parade of the Narva City Run and Narva Days, filled with fun and movement, will take place on Friday, May 31, at 6:30 PM. The colorful crowd of participants will move from Peetri Square to the EV100 Park, where a grand concert program awaits, featuring various Narva cultural groups and pop artist Tanja.
On Saturday, June 1, at 10:00 AM, the 21.1-kilometer half-marathon will begin, followed by the five-kilometer run and walking distance at 1:00 PM. The event center and start/finish area of the Narva City Run will be located at the Joaoru recreational area, and nearby on Joaoru Island, the Limpa Children's Races will take place at 11:30 AM.
After the sporting activities, everyone will have the chance to enjoy a concert program in the EV100 Park on Saturday, featuring performances by Traffic and Alika.
The participation medals for the Narva City Run are inspired by Narva's Hermann Castle, with its 51-meter-tall tower flying the blue-black-white flag of Estonia. Both the half-marathon and five-kilometer distance medals are transparent, highlighting the city's most famous landmark. The children's race medal features a playful lion cub, as the Swedish lion is historically one of Narva's symbols.
