The largest mass sports event in Ida-Virumaa - Narva Energy Run took place for the first time as a virtual race

2495 participants were registered for the virtual race of Narva Energy Run, of which 519 runners were registered for the half marathon, 1583 enthusiasts for the 6-kilometer running and walking distance and 393 small sports fans for children's races. The virtual race lasted from 1st to 15th of October and 1818 participants confirmed and uploaded their results.

In the half marathon, two thirds of the participants were men and one third were women. At a distance of six kilometers, the ratio was the opposite: 71% for women and 29% for men.

 

A total of eight different countries participated in the virtual run of the Narva Energy Run. In addition to Estonia, Finland, Latvia and Russia, also in Germany, Norway, Iceland and Egypt.

 

The oldest participant in the main distances was 81-year-old Ludmila from Kohtla-Järve, who covered 6 km. The youngest participant in the same distance was six-year-old Alexandra from Kuressaare.

 

In 2022, the Narva Energy Run will take place on June 11.

 

Narva Energiajooks is an event created on the initiative of Eesti Energia, the City of Narva, the Ministry of Culture and the organizers, the aim of which is to encourage people to engage in health sports and increase the importance of Ida-Virumaa in the Estonian cultural and sports landscape.

 

The Narva Energy Run, which has taken place since 2011, has grown into the largest sports event in Ida-Virumaa, having set in motion more than thirty thousand enthusiasts.
